Enclave to be Serbian Candidate for Academy Awards

Film “Enklava” (Enclave) by screenwriter and director Goran Radovanovic is Serbia's national candidate for the Academy Award, according to the decission of the expert committee of the Serbian Academy of Film Arts and Science (AFUN) decided.

Among six films in the competition, “Enclave” won 15 votes out of 18 committee members.

“Enclave” will run in the category of best foreign-language feature films in 2015 at the 88th Academy Award ceremony which will be held in Los Angeles in early 2016.

The film tells a powerful and emotional story about the life of Serbs who remained in Kosovo-Metohija after 1999 in small isolated communities, enclaves, unique in Europe for the fact that they are protected by members of the UN and EU police.

The film saw its premiere at the Belgrade's International Film Festival - FEST in March, and it won the award of the Serbian branch of FIPRESCI for the best film in the national (Serbian film) programme.

“Enclave” also won the audience award at the international film festivals in Moscow and Monterey, as well as the award of the Festival of film screenplay in Vrnjacka Banja.
